Review On Automatic Silver Assaying System Based on Embedded System & Image Processing

Abstract
An automatic silver assaying was developed to detect percentage of silver in silver alloy. The system consists of embedded system and image processing which is used to control and monitor the system. The silver assaying method is a chemical titration process. The webcam monitors the color of solution continuously. Image processing used to process the images received from webcam and to detect change of color that is end point of titration process. In addition the PIC microcontroller programmed to handle the system. The stepper motor is connected to burette for controlling flow of solution. A developed prototype has been extensively tested and experimental results have compared with conventional measuring techniques. The results accurate than conventional method. Because of the automation of the system has potential to be useful for silverware to find correct amount of percentage of silver in alloy and to determine purity, hardness, and quality of the metal.
