Abstract
The influence of various welding processes and techniques including electrode selection, pre and post treatments on the susceptibility to welding discontinues and the mechanical properties of the welded structure have been studied. Considerable emphasis has been placed on the dynamic properties, fatigue and toughness because of the significance of these on service behavior. This report did cusses the weld ability and the problems with welding discontinuities and then the effect of the welding processes and welding discontinuities on mechanical properties. Paper Deals with selection of three electrodes for weld on mils steel, actual testing conducted on UTM as well as analysis is carried out ANSYS software. Results comparison of three electrodes suggests the most optimize electrode for lap joint on mild stell. Deformation for orange, weldfox and murli are observed deformation is found minimum for orange type Electrode. Hence being optimum in such case followed by murli and weldfox electrodes.
