A Study on the Sway of Facebook on Interpersonal Relations of Early Adolescents

Abstract
Using internet in the fashionable realm is quiet common among school going adolescents, and the key drive of using internet is to communicate with their peers. As Facebook being one amongst the prevalent social networks, it also guzzles most of their fruitful time of the school going adolescents. It is imperative to examine how the usage of Facebook influences the school going adolescents and their affairs.The goal of the study is to acquire an in-depth knowledge about the influence of Facebook on interpersonal relations of early adolescents. This study was carried out by exploring the perceptions of a sample of adolescents aged 13- 14. This quantitative study generated the data through dialog schedule. The early adolescents who were studying in an international school from 9th grade were 126. According to the attendance register the researcher selected the entire even roll numbers (63) as samples from the class. Some findings may say that usage of Facebook is convenient and cost-effective for the usage as the cell phone charges are too high. It may also reveal that there are few hitches through strange friends in Facebook. Yes Facebook plays a very important role in interpersonal relationships. The positive is that the adolescents are able to maintain or sustain the friends whom they cannot meet daily. The negatives are that, they might be unwanted posts by some other people who might not be friendship which will bring in hurt to people.
