Abstract
In the new economic year and globalization phase, Sheet metal stamping has now replaced many components which were earlier cast or machined. Material economy and the resultant reduction in weight and cost, high productivity, use of unskilled labour, and a high degree of possible precision have rendered press-work indispensable for many mass produced goods such as electronic appliances, steel furniture, utensils and vehicles. The entire top of a care can be finished to size from a single metal sheet. There is no need for further machining as for casting or forgings. Present work deals with the Modeling, FEA analysis and optimization of Design of Drawing Die for Rectangular Shell. This includes Punch design, Blank holder design, and Die block Design based on the selected material for rectangular shell. FEA analysis of the Drawing Die through the ANSYS – Workbench 15.0 in various fields like Wrinkle, Tearing, and Crack. Then validation of computational result (FEA Result) is done. Also for the economy of Drawing Die, column is optimized using Ansys.
